Portland Trailblazers
The Portland Trailblazers are currently holding the eighth spot in the Western Conference with a record of 38 wins and 28 losses. The West, however, is completely up for grabs.
The Blazers have had some pretty big setbacks this season with Greg Oden injuring his leg again, and Pryzbilla also out with injury. Not only that, the Trailblazers’ All-Star Brandon Roy has also had to miss games with an injured hamstring. If Portland had been healthy all season they may be farther up in the standings right now.
They have had stellar performances out of Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Alldredge lately and they boast some athletic big men. Even with Oden and Pryzbilla out, the Blazers were able to acquire Marcus Camby in a trade and add some shot blocking ability to the team. They have also proven their ability to get offensive rebounds when it really counts.
Although the Blazers haven’t fully lived up to their expectations, they still have five weeks to prove what they are made out of. If they can get some solid defensive and offensive efforts together, then they could move up the playoff ladder. They have been a solid team all season, and have played especially well on their home court but they need to start winning on the road if the hope to keep the playoff hopes alive. No team out west is safe
