Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers are sitting at the bottom of the Central Division with a record of 21 wins and 43 losses.  This has not been their year so far.  They played fairly well against the Phoenix Suns last week, but still came back from their road trip without a win.  The Pacers have only won seven road games so far and only have seven more to go before the end of the season.

The Pacers acquired Tyler Hansbrough from last year’s draft, but he hasn’t made a big dent in the headlines since being in the National Basketball Association.  The key players on the team this season have been Mike Dunleavy, Troy Murphy and Danny Granger.  Granger has been putting up solid numbers throughout the season, but it has not been enough to make it a winning season.  The team has some talented players but talent alone has not been enough to help them win games.

The Indiana Pacers are not likely to make it anywhere near the playoffs this season.  With 21 wins, they are ten games behind even the last place spot in the East. The Eastern Conference has been strange in that it has produced some of the top teams in the league, but also most of the worst teams as well.

Indiana is down there below the Knicks and will be approaching “Nets” status if they are not careful.  Indiana will likely need to go through a couple years of rebuilding and trades before they can be legitimate contenders in the East again.
