Houston Rockets

The Houston Rockets, Memphis Grizzlies, and the New Orleans Hornets are all looking to try and get the eighth spot away from the Trailblazers come playoff time.  They are all neck and neck as far as stats go, and all have an equal chance of getting into the playoffs if they can play their cards right.

Lately, they have not been doing the right things to secure a playoff spot.  The Rockets lost to both the Sacramento Kings and the Detroit Pistons last week, and seriously hurt their chances of getting into the playoffs.  If you can’t finish teams like the Kings and Pistons, then how do you expect to beat the Lakers, Jazz, or Nuggets?  The Rockets need to pull their team together and really focus in order to have a shot at the playoffs this year.

The Rockets, however, did make some necessary changes this season.  They finally got rid of Tracy Mcgrady and all the drama that he cause while being injured and still on the team, and they acquired Kevin Martin who has just been tearing it up lately.  His supporting cast of Aaron Brooks, Trevor Ariza, and Luis Scola, look to be a good crew if they can just get their heads on straight and play through the remaining games of the season. The Rockets have had their good and bad streaks, but look for them to make a real push these last two months to get into that eighth playoff spot in the Western Conference.
