Detroit Pistons
Coming in near the bottom of the Central Division in the Eastern Conference, the Detroit Pistons have been a bust so far this year. Currently having the same record as the Knicks (who just got blown out by the worst team in the league, the New Jersey Nets), they have fallen way short of expectations. They currently have a record of 22 wins and 41 losses and are not looking to make it into the playoffs.
The Detroit Pistons boast some great players on their team, but just can’t seem to get it all together. They acquired Ben Gordon in the offseason and were hoping to boost their team’s energy and offensive with him on board, but he has been somewhat of a bust. He hasn’t been consistent in his performances and doesn’t look to be playing at the same level that he did last year during the playoffs against the Celtics.
The Pistons also have the likes of Rip Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince, Charlie Villaneuva, and Ben Wallace, but just can’t seem to put any of these other big teams away. We were expecting a lot more out of the Pistons and will probably walk away from this season very disappointed. Their best bet is to just hope for the lottery and some offseason changes to catapult this team back out of mediocrity.
They just had a breakthrough performance from Will Bynum against the Houston Rockets after Rodney Stuckey took some time off from passing out a few games earlier, but it probably won’t be enough to make any significant changes this season.
