Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks are currently on fire. They have just extended their win streak to 12 games, and with a weak road lineup coming up over the next few games, they could extend it to 15 or 16 if not more. A win streak like that is sure to throw you up on the Conference Standings, especially when the race is already as tight as it is.
The Mavericks went from being the four and five spot in the West, to being the number two seed. They are now in range of the Lakers and could possible overtake them if they keep playing the way that they have been. The Mavericks are currently at 44 wins and 21 losses and hope to continue that streak.
The odd thing about this win streak of the Mavericks is that they really have not been playing that stellar of basketball. They are allowing a lot of points to be scored on them and sometimes they are not shooting very well from the field. Even with those shortcomings, they are still finding ways to put teams away.
With clutch players like Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd, the Mavericks have been able to get past any obstacles that are hurled at them. The real challenge will be when they face off against the other top teams in the West and see how they fare. They have pretty much secured one of the top four spots in the West, so we will see if they have what it takes to make a run in the playoffs.
