Charlotte Bobcats
The Charlotte Bobcats have made a statement in the NBA this year that they are not to be underestimated. They came into the season without very many expectations but currently hold the third spot in the Southeastern Division and are the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference.
They currently have a record of 31 wins and 31 losses but have had breakthrough stretches where they have beaten big teams like the Lakers. They are currently on a three game win streak and are gaining some momentum as the season begins to wind down and they are battling for a playoff spot.
The Bobcats, along with the Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, and the Toronto Raptors, are all fighting for the last three or four spots in the Eastern Conference. Any of these teams could be in or out, depending on their play in the next five weeks.
The Bobcats have seen some breakout stars this season with Gerald Wallace, and Stephen Jackson. They have been a dynamic duo and both should have been offered spots as All-Stars. Gerald Wallace competed in the slam dunk contest, and has gotten his name out around the league.
The Charlotte Bobcats have what it takes to get themselves into the playoffs, but they are going to need to be more consistent to either move up the conference or stay where they are at. When the team is running efficiently with the help of other players like Boris Diaw, Tyrus Thomas and Theo Ratliff, the Bobcats can be a formidable force.
