Chicago Bulls face Orlando Magic on ABC

On Sunday, the Orlando Magic and the Chicago Bulls clash in a meeting of two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference. This is probably one of the most significant matches in the league as the regular 2011 NBA season comes to an end.

The Bull are at 5-1 and the Magic at 12-1 to win the NBA Championship in NBA betting Odds.

With the playoffs only weeks away, Sunday will be an intense day that will test the form of each team heading into the post season. The Chicago Bulls without a doubt have had the best second half of the season in the East. They have improved from a mediocre ranking to having the best record in the East by April, surpassing Boston and Miami. Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic are ranked fourth in the Eastern Conference. Months ago, not too many people would bet their money on Chicago finishing at the top of the rankings table in the East.

The reason that Sunday’s game is so important is that the Bulls and Magic will most likely clash in the late stages of the playoffs, especially if there are expectations to reach the finals. The two teams are already familiar with each other from the multiple meetings this season. The Bulls lost a pre-season game 105-67, and the first regular season game 107-78. However, these two humiliating losses do not mean much at this stage of the season. The Bulls got their revenge against the Magic by winning the last two games comfortably, 99-90 and 89-81.

The Bulls simply have gained better momentum than the Magic over the last month by winning 15 of their last 18 games. Derrick Rose has been the X-Factor for the bulls all season long both defensively and offensively, and he can lead Chicago to a new successful era that has been absent since the days of Michael Jordan.
