Boston Celtics battle Orlando Magic

As Christmas and the New Year approach, the Boston Celtics have more to look forward to than just the holidays. On Saturday, the Celtics will travel to Orlando and face the Magic. Being such a hot match, the Amway Center is expected to be sold out on Christmas Day. This will be the first meeting between the two teams in the 2010-2011 NBA seasons.

NBA Odds have not yet been posted.

Right now, the Boston Celtics is one of the best teams in the league, and certainly the best in the Eastern Conference. In fact, Boston has not lost a game since late November. The 13 game winning streak is a testament to how well the team is playing.

The Boston squad is packed with stars. The trio of Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett continues to be as effective as when the Celtics won the NBA championship in 2008. Newcomer Shaquille O’Neal, who missed some games this season, is still a major force coming off the bench. The key to Boston’s success is excellent teamwork, as seen by the statistics. More than six players average above 11 points per game. Rajon Rondo always finds a way to pass the ball to his teammates, and that’s why he leads the league in assists.

Orlando is ranked fifth in the Eastern Conference, and team seems to be underachieving right now. A three game losing streak since December 14th doesn’t help the Magic‘s confidence. Before playing Boston, Orlando has to face San Antonio and Dallas, the best teams in the Western Conference. Dwight Howard and his team have quite a challenge in front of them this week.
