NBA Preview: Chicago Bulls at Oklahoma City Thunder
The Chicago Bulls and the Oklahoma City Thunder open their 2010-11 NBA season schedules on Wednesday at the Ford Center (8 pm ET, ESPN).
NBA Betting Odds have the Thunder as a 6-point favorite and the over/under total at 194.
Chicago was 41-41 SU and 42-38-2 ATS last season while Oklahoma City was 50-32 SU and 48-34 ATS. The Bulls were 22-19 ATS on the road and the Thunder were 22-19 ATS at home.
On the injury front, Bulls forward Carlos Boozer is out indefinitely with a hand injury, while Thunder forward Nick Collison is out indefinitely with a leg injury.
Chicago has a slight edge head-to-head, going 6-4 SU and ATS in the past 10 meetings. The teams last squared off on Jan. 27 last season, when the Bulls beat the Thunder 96-86 and cashed as a 6-point road underdog. The score went under the total of 195.
In the NBA Playoffs last season, both teams were knocked out in the first round. The Bulls lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers while the Thunder were eliminated by the eventual NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers.
Based on last season’s stats, Chicago was the second worst team in three-point shooting, averaging 4.3 per game. But the Bulls led the league in rebounds at 44.5 per game.
Oklahoma City was near the top in two key categories – second in the league in free throw percentage at 80.5, and third in rebounds at 43.5 per game.
