Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics fight it out in Game 4 of the seven game series on Thursday night (9:00 pm ET, ABC), at TD Garden, Boston, MA. The Lakers have a 57-25 home, 23-18 away record whereas the Celtics have a 50-32 away, 24-17 home record. The Lakers lead the series by 2-1.
Lakers clinched a victory over Boston by the help of Derek Fisher. Before being flattened 300-pound Glen “Big Baby” Davis and 6-foot-11 Kevin Garnett, he followed through on a breakaway layup. He converted the three-point play to turn it into a seven-point game. With the Lakers, Fisher played the first eight years of his career, winning three titles in the Shaq-and-Kobe era before signing. Fisher and Bryant will earn their fifth title in 11 years as teammates with two more victories.
“It’s not unusual for players that have played together … to have a relationship, especially when you have winning, They have a wonderful relationship, not only in communication but also in knowing how to play with each other in a way that’s supportive”, said coach Phil Jackson.
Of the two, Fisher is the more vocal and is more likely to call out his teammates with a motivational speech. He did the same on Tuesday too. Instead, Bryant relies on a quiet intensity. One has to read it on his face.
