San Antonio Spurs vs. Phoenix Suns (9:00 pm ET, TNT)
This Wednesday, the Phoenix Suns host the San Antonio Spurs (9:00 pm ET, TNT) in the second game of the seven game series at US Airways Center, Phoenix, AZ. The Spurs have 50-32 home, 21-20 away record and Suns have 54-28 away, 32-9 home record. The Suns lead the series by 1-0.
Spurs must look to level it on Wednesday. Tony Parker is back in the side since his return April 6 after missing 16 games. George Hill has been the starter for the Spurs but he has to improve his game. Hill made first five shots and by the end of the first quarter, scored 17 points. He finished with 33 points and 10 assists. Tony Parker had 26 points in 35 minutes.
Jason Richardson and more importantly Steve Nash will play a crucial role in Suns’ win. Nash was uncertain in Game 1 and had rested for three days because of the strained right hip. He expects more aggressive defense, as Spurs are aware of his early offences in Game 1.
“I was a little nervous about it,” he said on Tuesday. “But I felt great and I had no setbacks, so I am really excited about that. I hopefully can play the series out and be as much help as possible,” said Nash.Richardson averages 24 points per game and has a 54 percent in shooting and 51 percent on 3s. The Suns are 30-4 this season when Richardson scores at least 20.
