Los Angeles Lakers vs. Utah Jazz – Match Review

In Game 3, Los Angeles Lakers, took a 3-0 series lead on the Utah Jazz in the Western Conference playoffs.

During an 8-2 run in the final minute, Kobe Bryant and Derek Fisher hit back-to-back 3-pointers. On Saturday, the Lakers held on for a 111-110 victory over Utah Jazz. Lakers are looking for a clean sweep. Lakers steal away Utah’s first home game of the series and stayed close enough to win it in the final minute. In the final 4 seconds, Jazz had two chances to win but Wesley Matthews’ tip just before the buzzer and Deron Williams’ top of the key were missed.Making all five of his 3-point attempts, Kyle Korver added a career playoff-high 23 points for the Jazz and Williams had 28 points and nine assists.

For Los Angeles, Pau Gasol and Fisher finished with 14 points and 20 points respectively. In the first two games, Andrew Bynum, Lamar Odom and Gasol used their size advantage to lead the Lakers, although Jazz was able to control them on Saturday. Lakers were able to break the tie from outside and in the paint, both teams scored 32. Ron Artest broke a 3-point slump by shooting 4 of 7 from beyond the arc and scored 18 of his 20 points in the second half.

Carlos Boozer missed a putback attempt and had 14 points and 14 rebounds. With 6.1 seconds, Williams drew a foul and made both from the line to cut it to 111-110. Out with a strained left calf, Andrei Kirilenko returned from more than a month. He had eight points and six rebounds. For Utah, Paul Millsap added 13 points.
