Boston Celtics vs. Orlando Magic – Game 5 Review

The Orlando Magic are headed back to Boston and their fight back has made them stand their ground. This shows that they are not ready to go to their home just yet. On Wednesday, Dwight Howard had 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Magic to a 113-92 victory over the Celtics.

A few days ago, the series looked like a sweep but now the gap has got a bit thinner and Game 6, on Friday will definitely be a pressure packed one.

“I don’t know if you can say you have momentum when you’re down 3-2 going into their place, I still look at it like we’re climbing a huge mountain here. But we are playing better “, said Magic coach Stan Van Gundy.

The Magic, suddenly have hope to be the first but everyone though they will be lifeless after a blowout defeat in Game 3. Making 13-of-25 3-pointers, they broke out of their series-long shooting slump.
Howard said, “I just feel that if we keep believing in each other and trusting one another and playing as hard as we can, anything’s possible”.

The Celtics couldn’t sustain the frenetic pace of the Magic. Jameer Nelson scored 24 points and J.J. Redick had 14, along with added five blocks from Howard, Orlando built an early 14-point lead.

For Boston team, Rajon Rondo scored 19 points and Rasheed Wallace had 21 but the Celtics were dazed and stunned by Magic’s reply. In the third quarter near the basket Howard’s elbow came down on Glen Davis’ face that gave the Celtics forward a concussion.

In the second quarter, Redick made a pair of 3-pointers to highlight a 20-8 run. This had put Orlando in 51-37 lead. For arguing with officials, Perkins was ejected and this made things even worse. For Game 6 unless the NBA rescinds the technical, Perkins will be suspended.

A team has won a playoff series after losing the first three games; only four times in the history of North American major pro sports leagues. Both the team is aware of this fact.
