NBA Playoffs – Denver- Utah Game 3 preview

Game 3 of the Denver-Utah NBA Playoffs series on Friday should be very interesting. After the Utah Jazz stole home court advantage away from the Denver Nuggets with a 114-111 victory, they now have the series return to Utah. The Jazz have perhaps one of the loudest crowds in the NBA and play well enough at home that the series could very well be 3-1 when the teams return to Denver.

It seems that Denver has no answer for all-star point guard Deron Williams who is also a star player. Williams had 33 points and 14 assists in Utah’s game 2 victory and was able to control the flow of the game. Many thought that Utah would not be able to compete with the Denver Nuggets after numerous injuries have hobbled their front court. Having Deron take over games is just what the Jazz seem to need to win this playoff series.

The Denver Nuggets are missing their head coach, George Karl, who is battling cancer. Without their coach they have been playing less than stellar basketball. The team seems to lack defensive intensity and doesn’t seem to be able to take advantage of Utah’s injuries.

Not too long ago the Denver Nuggets were favorites to face the Lakers for a trip to the finals. The Utah Jazz, injuries and all, have other plans. The fans will be ready for game 3 and the Jazz will be as well. The Nuggets have an uphill battle to win this series.
