NBA Playoffs – Los Angeles Lakers-Oklahoma City Thunder Series Preview
The Los Angeles Lakers, who are the NBA betting odds favorite, are to open up the defense of their title with one of the surprising teams of the NBA regular season, the Oklahoma City Thunder. For the past month, people have been talking about the Thunder and how they were streaking up the charts. Up until the last weekend of the NBA season, they were looking really good. Possibly the 82 game schedule caught up with them. The Lakers have been coasting to the finish line. It is a difficult thing to pick up and play again after you have been coasting. For that reason, it is a possibility that the Thunder could beat the Lakers.
The matchups are interesting. You would probably have to give the point guard battle to the Thunder. Fisher is getting older and Westbrook has the athletic prowess to take him on. The other guard position has Kobe going against Sefolosha. You have to give the Lakers this matchup, because you just do not bet against Kobe. He has been the premier player for too long.
With the Lakers having Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum and Lamar Odom it could be tough for the Thunder to match up with the power of these players. It is true, the Thunder have some good young players in Kevin Durant and Jeff Green, but their inexperience in the playoffs will catch up with them.
The Thunder will probably surprise some people. They could even catch the Lakers napping and win the first game in Los Angeles. However, the Lakers will catch fire from there and put the Thunder away in six games. The Oklahoma City Thunder just have too much to learn about winning in the playoffs.
