NBA: Magic vs Bobcats Series Preview
While the NBA Playoffs always provide fans with plenty of excitement, one of the most exciting teams heading into the 2010 NBA Playoffs are the Orlando Magic. With the two seed, the Magic are heavily favored to beat the seventh seeded Charlotte Bobcats in the first round of the playoffs.
The Orlando Magic have been one of the NBA’s best teams for the past few years. After winning last year’s Eastern Conference Championship, they appear poised to make another run. The Magic are led by young forward Dwight Howard, who is one of the most dominating players in the league. Howard averaged 18.4 points, 13.2 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks per game this season. The Magic also rely on veteran swingmen Vince Carter and Rashard Lewis, each of whom can score at will. Leading the team up the court is point guard Jameer Nelson. Nelson averaged about 12.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game this year. JJ Redick also provides the team with excellent outside shooting.
While the Magic look like the odds on favorite, they will have their hands full with the Charlotte Bobcats. During the regular season, the Magic won 3 out of the 4 meetings, although one of the victories had to be settled in overtime. This playoff series should be just as tightly fought.
The Bobcats are led by guard Steven Jackson and forward Gerald Wallace. Jackson and Wallace each have the potential to score at any moment, and both are expected to be focal points of the Bobcat’s offense this series.
