NBA Preview – Portland Trail Blazers vs. Dallas Mavericks
On Thursday, the Portland Trail Blazers are set to host the Dallas Mavericks. With both teams jockeying for their respective playoff positions, the game should be nothing short of excellent will definitely make the NBA betting lines roll on.
The Dallas Mavericks, who are led by Jason Kidd and Dirk Nowitzki, will enter the game as one of the hottest teams in the NBA. The Mavericks have won 14 of 16 games since the middle of February, which includes a 13 game winning streak that last for three weeks. The main reason for the Maverick’s surge seems to be a mid-season trade which brought in Caron Butler and Brendan Haywood from the Washington Wizards. With a record of 46 and 23, the Mavericks are presently in third place in the Western Conference.
The Portland Trail Blazers, who are led by Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge, have had a successful season so far this year. With a record of 42 and 28, the Trail Blazers are sitting in 8th place in the Western Conference. While 8th place is good for a spot in the NBA playoffs, the Blazers seem poised to move up. They have won 5 straight games, and 8 of the last 10. While they are in 8th place, they are only a game and a half out of fifth place.
Thursday will be the third time the two teams have met this season. The Trail Blazers have won both of the previous meetings, however both games were tightly fought. The two teams will meet again on April 9.
